Strategic planning is the process of defining strategy, making decisions on allocating resources to pursue this strategy and agreeing on control mechanisms for guiding the implementation of the strategy.

 

Sounds simple. Yet many organisations either don’t have a properly thought-through strategy, or see their strategy as second priority after day to day activities, or don’t commit the necessary resources to implement their strategy.
